Mosman Park Memorial Hall

Mosman Park Memorial Hall,  16 Lochee St, Mosman Park (1939)

This was built as an addition to the Soldiers Memorial Hall designed by R. Oldham. The building was converted to the Art Deco style  by Kreitmeyer and Rowe in 1939 to accommodate both indoor and outdoor cinemas, as well as the local Road Board office. It was one of the rare examples incorporating cinemas with a local government building and the only picture theatre in WA to feature the word “Cinema” on the flashing sign. In 1993, the Architect Marcus Collins was commissioned to refurbish the building, and attached picture gardens now known as “Camelot, as a multi-functional venue.”
